His Excellency, the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the Maldives, Rear Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hassan paid a courtesy call on the president of Employment Tribunal Uza. Aminath Abdulla Zuhair on 26th September 2021, Sunday. During the meeting, His Excellency, High Commissioner Nazmul Hassan acknowledged the strengthening of Bangladesh – Maldives bilateral relations, as evidenced by courtesy extended by the Government of Maldives to the Bangladeshi nationals residing in the country during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Upon concerns regarding the challenges expatriate workers are currently facing, President Uza. Aminath along with Registrar Uz. Nafiu Mohamed, briefed the High commissioner and First Secretary MD. Sohel Parvez on how Employment Tribunal precedes cases filed by expatriates and the rights of foreign worker under Employment Act. Concluding the meeting, Employment Tribunal’s President Uza. Aminath and High Commissioner both expressed their keenness to explorer and corporate with other relevant authorities in order to minimize the challenges and obstacles faced by expatriate workers.


Employment Tribunal has launched the Official Logo and Official Colors

Employment Tribunal has launched the Official Logo and Official Colors to represent Employment Tribunal of the Maldives on 29th November 2018. The selected Official Colors are “Little Greene Marine Blue” & “Blood Orange”. The Logo was launched by the Special Guest of Honor President of the Employment Tribunal, Uz. Ahmed Shifau. This function was attended by Members, Staff and some Former Members of the Employment Tribunal.


Launching English Webpage and twitter account on the occasion of 8th anniversary

The Employment Tribunal has launched the English language version of its Website and has started using Twitter Account (twitter account:@EmpTribunal_MV) today as part of celebrating 8th Anniversary. The website and Twitter Account was launched by the President of Employment Tribunal, Uz.Hussain Faiz Rashad. On this occasion the President has highlighted the importance of providing easy access to information related to the Tribunal’s work to all employees working across the Maldives including expatriates. President has also thanked the members and the staff of the Tribunal for their invaluable support and contribution in bringing improvements to the Tribunal’s work.


A team from Employment Tribunal meets with the president of Human Rights Commission of Maldives

Senior officials of Employment Tribunal met the president of Human Rights Commission of the Maldives on 25th August 2016. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss about the measures that could be taken by two organizations to increase awareness towards labour related issues. In this regard it was discussed about Tribunal’s participation in ongoing awareness programmes conducting by Human Rights Commission. In addition to that it was discussed about how two institutions could work together with other relevant organizations to make aware of public on issues relate to job environment. Vice President Ismail Ahmed, Member Maryam Muna, Member Mariyam Rishfa and Registrar Aliya Haneef have participated in this meeting.


A team from Employment Tribunal meets with the NCIT

A meeting held with National Center for Information Technology on 22nd August 2016. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss about the ICT requirement necessary for Employment tribunal. In this regard it was identified the software, data backup and other related issues for which Tribunal has concern. Vice president Ismail Ahmed, Member Muna and IT staff were participated in this meeting.
